Volunteer Opportunities

There are a number of opportunities for alumni to get involved at DeBaun Auditorium. The following dates have been set for work days and crew calls:

  • LOFT CLEAN-UP - Sunday, September 16 from Noon-6pm
  • URINETOWN CREW CALLS - October 7 and 8 (times TBA)
  • URINETOWN CREW and PAINTING CALLS - October 12 and 13 (times TBA)
  • URINETOWN STRIKE - October 28 at approx. 5:30pm
  • CAROL CREW CALLS - December 2 at 7pm, December 3 and 4 (times TBA)
  • SEUSSICAL CREW CALLS - January 19, 20, 21 (times TBA)
  • SEUSSICAL CREW and PAINTING CALLS - January 26, 27, 28 (times TBA)

Performing Arts Homecoming 2007

For the first time, the performing arts are becoming a part of the Stevens Homecoming celebration! On September 28 and 29, a number of events will be held to showcase the student performing arts at Stevens, and to welcome back alumni who have participated in the Stevens Dramatic Society, Glee Club, Jazz Band, and other performing arts groups. Much Ado about Stevens Dramatic Society

Stevens Dramatic Society’s fall production is Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare. Performances will be at DeBaun Auditorium on November 15, 16, and 17 at 8pm. Mark your calendars now!

DeBaun Clean-up Day - July 28

Every year during the summer we clean-up and do maintenance at DeBaun Auditorium, including the understage, backstage, and costume/prop loft. This year we are looking for volunteers to help us on Saturday, July 28 starting at 10am. We’ll have food throughout the day, and lots of good company and shared memories. If you can come for an hour or for the day, drop by and lend a hand! For more information, contact Carl Russell.

New Season Announced

The new season at The Center for the Performing Arts at DeBaun Auditorium has been announced. Save-the-date for upcoming events by checking out www.debaun.org and clicking on “On Stage”. Included are productions of Urinetown, A Christmas Carol and Seussical in the Theater Series, a list of family events in our Children’s Series, and concerts by the Stevens Choir, Concert Band and Jazz Band in the Music Series. Good Ship Pride on June 2 for Alumni Day

Written by a Stevens student in the 1930’s, The Good Ship Pride of Communipaw Flats is a classic story of good vs evil, written as a melodrama with humor for all ages. Once produced every year for the incoming Freshman class, the story is brought back to stage by The Center for the Performing Arts and involves current students and alumni alike.

Performing Arts Trips and Events

For Fall 2006, we have many trips and events lined up, including performances of “The Drowsy Chaperone” and “Evil Dead: The Musical”, piano, flute and voice recitals in the Ondrick Music Room and The Great Hall at the Samuel C.
